GatewayJFK Board Member Elections 

 

At the upcoming Annual Meeting in May/June 2023, the District membership will elect new board members. As per the By-Laws the composition of the GatewayJFK Board of Directors is as follows: 

Class A: Property Owners

  • Class A1: Commercial | Mixed-Use | Vacant Commercial Privately-Held - 8 Members

  • Class A2: Resident Property Owners - 5 Members

Class B: Commercial Tenants - 5 Members

Class C: Residential Tenants1 Member

Class D: Represents ex officio appointees: Mayor of the City of New York, Comptroller of the City of New York, Queens Borough President, New York City Council.

Class E (Non-Voting): Persons or entities with significant interests within the District.

*The Board of Directors meets monthly and has several active committees including, but not limited to, Finance, Audit, Governance, Streetscape and Community Support.

Board Member Commitment

  • Attend all Board Meeting, held monthly, primarily virtual meetings.

  • As Committee member, participate in meetings to assist in shaping programming and perform required governance and financial tasks.

  • As volunteers, Board Members are expected to adhere to a code of conduct and ethics and to support the organization’s mission.

  • Attend various events and campaigns hosted by the Board.

To be considered a Board Member Candidate for GatewayJFK, please complete the Board Member Expression of Interest Form.

The Nominating Committee will review the submissions and recommend a slate of candidates for election by the membership at the upcoming Annual Meeting.
